Isabel Lucena, International Officer, leads on the UK Branch's Cultural Understanding theme, including initiatives to promote Portuguese visual art, multilingualism and literature in translation in the UK. She is a Portuguese national, resident in the UK since 1987. Before joining the Foundation, she was an arts correspondent for Portuguese publications and national radio, and still collaborates with UK world-music publications as a Portuguese/Lusophone music expert.
