Exclusions

The UK Branch of the Foundation gives grants only for proposals of a charitable kind, from registered charities or similar not-for-profit organisations.

Please note we do not fund:

x-bullet.gif Student grants or scholarships for tuition and maintenance
x-bullet.gif Vocational training
x-bullet.gif Teaching or research posts or visiting fellowships
x-bullet.gif Educational resources and equipment
x-bullet.gif Gap year activities
x-bullet.gif Group or individual visits abroad, including to Portugal

x-bullet.gif Core services and standard provisions
x-bullet.gif Routine information and advice services
x-bullet.gif Capital costs for housing or the purchase, construction, repair or furnishing of buildings
x-bullet.gif Equipment, including vehicles, IT, or musical instruments

x-bullet.gif Scientific or medical research
x-bullet.gif Medicine or related therapies such as complementary medicine, hospices, counselling and therapy

Historically we have supported the arts, arts and science and arts education but we will not any longer consider arts applications unless they meet our current strategic aims.

We never make loans or retrospective grants, nor help to pay off deficits or loans, nor can we remedy the withdrawal or reduction of statutory funding.

We do not give grants in response to any capital, endowment or widely distributed appeal.

Armenian Communities Department

Scholarships for Portuguese nationals
Education Department

Projects promoting Portuguese culture outside Portugal (but not in the UK or Ireland)
