In 1973 Bob Hescott, an actor at the Nottingham Playhouse, became involved in the theatre’s Saturday morning drama workshops for children. During the next seven years this interest was developed into a number of projects inside and outside the Playhouse – Sociable Theatre, Art and Youth Opportunity Scheme, the Arrow Community Theatre Company, Pigment Multi-Racial Theatre in Education Company and the Nottingham Youth Theatre.
